Electoral Area A Parks, Recreation and Culture Services

To register for programs, you will need to create a recreation account:  

1. Visit the Recreation Program website
2. Click on Create an Account
3. Enter your details and create a password
4. Enter your email and click Next
5. Under Account Options, click on Manage Family Member to add family members to your account
6. Once you have added all family members, you are ready to register for programs
7. Click on Activities in the menu bar and search Area A to view all programs in Cedar, South Wellington, Yellowpoint, and Cassidy

If a Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Receptionist created an account for you, to access your account:

1. Visit the Recreation Program website
2. Click on Sign In
3. Enter your email and click Forgot your password?
4. Check your inbox or junk mail folder for an email with the link to reset your password

All registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment is due at time of registration.

Pre-registration is required for all activities. RDN reserves the right to cancel activities. If you have not received a receipt prior to the activity start date, please check your online account or call to confirm registration.

Prices are subject to change. GST will be applied to applicable fees.

Regrettably, if a minimum number of registrants are not met, we may have to cancel or combine classes due to low registration. These decisions are made prior to the program start date. Please register early to avoid disappointment. A 100% refund is granted when we cancel a program.

We will happily offer a refund if appropriate notification is provided:

Activity or Private Lesson Set: 72 hours’ notice 
Day Camps and Advance Aquatics Certification Courses: Seven days’ notice 
Individual class/lesson: notification is required PRIOR to the beginning of class/lesson.

Financial assistance is available for low-income residents in Electoral Area A (Cedar, Cassidy, South Wellington and Yellowpoint) who would like to participate in RDN recreation programs.

The process is simple and confidential and must be done in advance of registering to avoid disappointment. Confidentiality is assured.

If bad weather occurs, we will reach out to registered participants to let them know if a program needs to be cancelled. Above all else, if you are uncomfortable or it is unsafe for you to travel, please stay home.

If schools are cancelled, community recreation morning programs will also be cancelled. Check the Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools website for any school cancellation notices. Any programs scheduled after 12 p.m. will be reassessed by 11 a.m. and updated on social media and by email, if possible. 

If conditions at a specific program site are compromised due to power outages, ice or snow removal, an email will be sent to program registrants as soon as possible.  

Yes, if a program session has already started, you may register. The registration system will pro-rate the registration fee to reflect the remaining sessions.

• Click on Sign-in to access your online account. 
• Click View Family Members Schedules. 
• Select the Family Members you wish to view. 
• Select the Schedule Type. We recommend that you select all, so you don’t miss an activity of FlexReg program. You can also search by Centre and Facilities.  
• Select the week or month view.  
• If you wish, click Print or Add to calendar.
