Parks and Recreation Master Plan

Electoral Area B Recreation & Parks Master Plan

The Electoral Area B Recreation & Parks Master Plan (2025) provides a long-term vision for parks, trails, recreation services, and facilities on Gabriola, Mudge, and DeCourcy Islands. Developed through community engagement and research, the plan outlines priorities and actions for the next decade.

The plan will help guide decision-making, investment, and park and recreation priorities over the next decade while protecting the unique character and natural environment of the islands.

The plan includes strategies to:

  • Expand and diversify recreation programs, facilities and spaces
  • Explore opportunities for a multi-purpose community centre and improved sport fields
  • Protect sensitive ecosystems
  • Improve public shoreline access
  • Strengthen and expand the trail network
