Dogs

When bringing your dog to a park or trail, please be familiar with the leashing requirements. Leashing requirements vary from park to park.

Dogs Under Control

Dogs are permitted in many RDN parks if under your control at all times, meaning:

  • the dog remains in your line of sight
  • can be brought to heel by calling and
  • does not annoy or injure other park users.

If you cannot keep your dog under control it must be restrained by a leash.

Dogs On-leash

Dogs must be leashed at all times at:

  • Any parks or areas where signage instructs to do so
  • Descanso Bay Regional Park
  • Horne Lake Regional Park
  • Moorecroft Regional Park
  • The Channel Trail in Englishman River Regional Park

Dogs not permitted

Dogs are not permitted in the Little Qualicum River Estuary Conservation Area at any time.
